Charities
Since its formation in 2009, NES has donated thousands of pounds to local charities, and helped them raise much more themselves. The chosen charity partner for 2023 is Chertsey & Addlestone Good Neighbours (C&AGN)
C&AGN is a group of volunteers who provide practical neighbourly help to people, mainly the elderly, living in central Runnymede and the surrounding areas including Egham. Their purpose is to provide transport to and from medical appointments at the local doctors’ surgery or hospital, dentist or opticians and to local day centres and to help with shopping and collecting prescriptions, etc. They also offer a befriending service.
C&AGN are much more than ‘just a taxi service’, and pride themselves on their volunteers being willing to go the extra mile and become friends with their clients particularly if they are feeling anxious and they or their family members request that C&AGN provide additional support.
NES is delighted to be supporting such a great local charity throughout 2023.
