Message from Enid
I would like to clarify the situation regarding the position of Treasurer, as there was some confusion arising from last week's Newsletter.
I have neither given up NES nor the position of Treasurer. However, I would prefer that this is my final year as Treasurer and it was agreed before Christmas that the committee would seek a replacement to take over from me in September of this year at the beginning of our new financial year.
Therefore, NES is looking for someone who thinks that they have both the time and the ability to take on this important role. This would obviously be better suited to someone with accountancy or book-keeping experience of some sort, but general numeracy and common sense could be sufficient . I am very willing to give every assistance to anyone who thinks they would like to take the job on, including instruction in spreadsheet set-up and use. As I have no intention of leaving NES in the near future, I will continue to be available to my replacement to supply any advice needed.
So I am looking for someone who would like to shadow the job for a few months so that the transition would go as smoothly as possible.
A Job Description file is attached to this Newsletter. Please read it if you think you might be interested.
If you think you could be that person, please email me
Thank you to everyone who has put their name down to sing at the wedding at St. Andrew’s Church, Wraysbury on Saturday 18th April. There are still places available and if you are interested in joining us on this date, there will be a sign-up sheet at rehearsal on Monday.
The numbers we will be performing are:
Chapel of Love (from Sixties with a Twist)
Shoshone Love Song (from our busking books)
Moon River (from our Christmas concert)
O Happy Day Medley
We will also be joining the congregation with the hymns:
O Jesus I have promised
The names of everyone who participates will be entered into a draw with two choir members each winning £100 for a charity of their choice. Singers would be required from 12.30pm for a brief rehearsal to approximately 3pm, when the ceremony ends. If you need more information, please see Guy or Lisa Bunce at rehearsal on Monday.
Raffle NewsWe will be continuing our popular raffles, which raise much appreciated funds for our Social expenses. Upcoming dates this term are:
NES is always on the lookout for new charities to support. We prefer our charities to be local to our community. This includes the community that you as a member live in – not just Egham and Staines. And they must be non-denominational and non-political. If you have a charity that you would like put forward for consideration, please contact our chairman, David Evans, either at rehearsal.
