NES Newsletter – 27 September, 2014
In this week’s Newsletter:
The Christmas Meal
It’s that time of year again already! We are looking into booking a local restaurant for our Christmas meal on Monday 8th December. If you go to the Social page of the website there is a link to a sign-up sheet, which I will also bring to rehearsal on Monday. We need to know tentative numbers as soon as possible so it would be great if people could use the online form in the meantime. The cost will be a maximum of £33 a head but may be less, depending on final venue choice.
We shall be starting work next rehearsal on the carols for the Christmas repertoire. I mentioned our whole list of pieces for our concert at the first rehearsal but will be starting on the Christmas pieces this coming week. If you have a copy of the NES Carol book from last year, please bring it on Monday.
Information on Scratch Messiah is attached.

If you are bringing friends along to join the choir, please send them across to me to fill out a membership form and collect their temporary music for the evening.
Addams Family The Musical
The Addams Family outing is still open to book for Saturday 2pm/7:30pm – tickets are £11 (the only concession to this is kids under 6 who go free but will still need a ticket so do please let me know).
Attention all Tenors:
Progeny is very keen to take on more tenors to balance out their excellent sound. If any of you tenors out there are interested in a slightly more challenging, but rewarding experience, please consider giving Progeny a go. And if you ladies have any spare tenors lying around at home, please bring them along.
Request List: The latest from Guy
The new updated request list is attached. I'm aware that it's not easy to request pieces during the break at rehearsal so if you want to request a piece outside of choir rehearsal please visit the Members' area on our website and fill in the form. You can suggest a new piece or vote for something already on the list.
All rehearsal tracks for the Michaelmas term are now on the website in the Members’ Area. Sam Mossop will be producing CDs for those who would prefer them.
As part of the new website, NES now has a blog. You can view it on our website under the ‘More’ button along the top, or visit http://www.neweghamsingers.org/blog
Guy will be posting interesting articles about choirs and singing, but most importantly, he will post each week what we are working on in rehearsal.
NES is always on the lookout for new charities to support. We prefer our charities to be local to our community. This includes the community that you as a member live in – not just Egham and Staines. And they must be non-denominational and non-political. If you have a charity that you would like put forward for consideration, please contact our chairman, David Evans, either at rehearsal or at firstname.lastname@example.org
