NES Newsletter – 11 October, 2014
In this week’s Newsletter:
Thanks to everyone who has signed up for the Christmas meal. With 85 places filled so far it promises to be a great night! If you haven't signed up yet and want to please click this link to do so: Social: Christmas Meal or see me on Monday (13th). I will start taking payment and menu choices from Monday. The total cost is £25.95: cheques should be payable to New Egham Singers (or NES), or you can do a BACS transfer. I have attached the menu to the Newsletter or you can see it on the website at the above link. If you wish to bring a guest you may, but please note 2 things: 1) places are limited to 100 and we're now operating a 1st come 1st served list for the last places and 2) if you want to sit near somebody specific please let me know either via the website or at rehearsal.
Addams Family: The Outing
Chloe will have tickets for collection on Monday. If you are unable to attend rehearsal she will bring them the following week and any that remain uncollected will be left on the door with your name on the envelope.
The next raffle will be held on Monday 13 October.
Thanks to all who have brought in donations for raffle prizes; please keep them coming... the November raffle will be the last one before the Christmas Meal!
Hot off the Press: Performance DVDs
As you may know, Doug, husband of choir member Liz Gibson, often films NES performances as well as taking lots of photos throughout the show.
There are now four events available on DVD to buy at £5 each and Liz will have a small number of copies of each with her at rehearsal.
Summer picnic concert in July 2013 (including Time Warp and West Side Story medley)
Spring Concert (at Magna Carta) - March 2014 (including Mamma Mia medley and Hello Muddah)
Summer Tour June 2014 (Exeter)
Summer picnic concert in July 2014 (including Anything Goes and Hot, Hot, Hot)
Please find Liz during the break if you wish to buy any of these. If they sell out Doug can always make more. All of the £5 will go to charity - probably the Air Ambulance as they attended Liz and Doug's son when he had a life-threatening accident (from which he is fully recovered!).
NES is always on the lookout for new charities to support. We prefer our charities to be local to our community. This includes the community that you as a member live in – not just Egham and Staines. And they must be non-denominational and non-political. If you have a charity that you would like put forward for consideration, please contact our chairman, David Evans, either at rehearsal or at email@example.com
